Every other town in Tripura has at most one district story. Amarpur has two, because the 1995 creation of Dhalai took in part of this sub-division, and the 2012 reorganisation then moved what remained from South Tripura into the new Gomati district.

Where the Gazette fits, from Amarpur
There is no Gazette counter in Amarpur, in Udaipur, in Agartala, or anywhere in Tripura. The file goes to one office in Delhi, so the district history of this area makes no difference to it whatever. It is also worth saying that a Gazette does not resolve an old district name, because there is nothing there to resolve. Anybody offering to file a Central Gazette notice within the state is describing something that does not exist.

Three details decide acceptance. A wrong version is quoted exactly as printed, spacing and punctuation included, and never tidied.
